What an awesome, active and exciting few months its been for young people in our Diocese!

From the 15th-17th of April we had the Revamped Autumn Camp! Young people from across the Diocese gathered with great music, inspiring speakers and great company! Interactive talks including topics such as Who needs mercy? What is Mercy (and why should I care?) Being Merciful and Comforting Friends in Need. On the final night we were led into a period of Adoration, Reconciliation and Reflection by Fr Tony Chiera. Candles were made available for young people to light to show their commitment to the Year of Mercy.

The very next week BYMO and young people from our Diocese attended the Veritas Youth Festival! This festival was also on the theme of Mercy and was a state wide Catholic Youth Festival with over 400 young people! Our Diocesan Youth Ministry Coordinator led a session designed to help young people find their “mercy story” and reflect on areas in their lives where they needed both to show and receive mercy.

Our preparation for WYD continues and we have 11 very excited pilgrims getting ready for Krakow! We depart on July 19 so please keep us in your prayers! By the time you’re reading this we will also be having the Mercy Alive! Winter Camp in Albany so please pray for our young people there as well!
