Serving the Community

The Catholic Diocese of Bunbury, through its parishes and schools, provides a wide range of services that touch the lives of many people throughout the region in a wide variety of important and meaningful ways.

Without the Cathedral and the adjoining precinct in which to base our humanitarian response to many social issues, the services the diocese provides to many thousands of people will be reduced both in quality and quantity. The Cathedral precinct will be valued, not only by the Catholic community, but also by the many people who will benefit from the services.

“The Holy Father was saddened to learn of the damage inflicted upon the Cathedral in Bunbury by the recent tornado and he wishes to express his spiritual closeness to all who grieve over the loss of this sacred building.”
Cardinal Angelo Sodano, Secretary of State-Vatican City, Rome
