Mandurah Catholic College’s Early Childhood area was awash with hues of blue on Friday, 1 April in recognition of Autism Awareness Day.
Students wore blue T-shirts to mark the day and decorated hands of friendship which acknowledged people with differences and the respect they deserve, before planting them en masse to create a sea of waving, colourful support for their peers who have diagnoses within the Autism Spectrum.
A highlight for students in Pre-Primary, Years 1 and 3 was the releasing of scores of blue balloons in the afternoon. All Junior School classes had spent the morning participating in various activities and watching informative videos focusing on autism.
