Patch Story
Sacred Heart Parish’s patch has as its central motif the Sacred Heart of Jesus, for it is from Jesus’ heart that that we draw our strength. To the right of the Sacred Heart is the image of our Old Church Window – with the cross of Christ central. This symbolizes the richness of our past as we prepare for Joseph, or as we affectionately known them – the “brown Joeys.” This is in memory of the many Sisters who have been a part of our Parish and School communities throughout our history. Finally we have a commonly recognized symbol of our town – majestic Karri Trees, for which we are known around the world. They symbolize our outreach to the whole community.
This patch was designed and created by members of the Liturgy Committee, Pastoral Council and general parish community of 2000. It was a parish team effort.
