RCIA STATE CONFERENCE

CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF BUNBURY

12TH OCTOBER 2013

Eighty representatives from the Archdiocese of Perth and the Diocese of Bunbury gathered in St Patrick’s Cathedral Parish Hall for the 2013 RCIA State Conference.

The theme of this year’s conference was “Walking with those on the road to faith: embracing the challenges”, and the keynote speakers were Dr Michael Jackson and Fr Tony Chiera.

The day began with a beautiful prayer liturgy led by Fr Tony with hymns sung by members of the Bunbury Diocesan Liturgical Choir. During the liturgy, all four of the Dioceses in WA were prayed for, even though distance prevented some from being represented.

Presentations by Fr Tony Chiera and Dr Michael Jackson covered topics of “The dynamics of change, growth and conversion”, and “How the RCIA process nurtures conversion and faith”, and were very well received.

Four parishioners from parishes within the Bunbury Diocese also spoke to the group about their experiences of the RCIA process, and answered questions from the floor.

The Diocese of Bunbury wishes to thank  all attendees for contributing to a very successful day.
